SlamBurger Opening in Petaluma Town Center

October 19, 2016 by basinadmin

Petaluma, CA (October 18, 2016) – Basin Street Properties, a prominent Northern California real estate investor and developer, has signed a lease with Slamburger for 1,767 square feet in in Petaluma Town Center.  “I spent a lot of time looking at locations around Sonoma County,” said Maurice Mickel, owner and operator of SlamBurger. “Downtown Petaluma feels busy, united and connected and we want to be a part of that.”

“SlamBurger is a great fit for Downtown Petaluma.” said Scott Stranzl, Vice President of Leasing for Basin Street Properties. “Maurice is very forward thinking about his menu, staffing and how he sources his food.  And it sounds like he’ll have some delicious options to choose from.”

Maurice is the proud parent of a one year old boy and as he researched the SlamBurger concept he was mindful of being kid friendly, healthy and affordable. “We want to appeal to local families,” said Maurice. “It can be challenging to find healthy, kid-friendly, affordable dining options.  We’re focused on filling that need.”  The menu will consist of a variety of burgers, salads, hotdogs and milkshakes as well as beer and wine. SlamBurger will have 10 – 12 burger options, serving beef, lamb, bison, turkey, chicken, salmon, ahi tuna, and multiple veggie options.

SlamBurger is trying to source locally whenever possible. “I think it is smart for our community and our environment to focus on using local farms and vendors,” said Maurice. “We are trying to live up to that by using local artists, contractors and food vendors for SlamBurger.” SlamBurger is currently hiring for kitchen assistant managers, line cooks, prep cooks, service staff and management positions.  Slamburger offers a competitive wage starting at $12/hour for service staff and $14/hour for line cooks.  Email jobs@theslamburger.com to apply. They will open in November, but the grand opening date has not been set.  Check out TheSlamBurger.com or Facebook.com/TheSlamBurger for updates.

Petaluma Town Center consists of two adjoining buildings totaling 43,341 square feet. The center has a premier location in the heart of the Theatre District in historic Downtown Petaluma. The north side of the project is a 1920’s era brick building that has a true Petaluma panache. The southern section is a modern cinema building containing 12 state-of-the-art theaters with stadium seating. All of this is situated in an extremely high-traffic, high visibility, and pedestrian-friendly environment with abundant parking available.

Representing Basin Street Properties in the leasing was Rhonda Deringer & Sara Wann of Keegan & Coppin.  SlamBurger was represented by Annette Cooper of Keegan & Coppin.
