Matt spearheads the acquisition, development, design and finance of Basin Street’s diverse real estate portfolio. Under Matt’s leadership, Basin Street has grown to encompass major development projects and financing deals throughout Northern California and Northern Nevada. Additionally, Matt manages the Basin Street Properties Investor Program, performing assessment and analysis for acquisitions and development projects, as well as providing strategic real estate advice and support to investors. Since joining Basin Street in 1994, he has directed the acquisition, financing and development of a broad range of office, industrial and retail properties throughout Basin Street’s core geographic markets. Matt holds a BA from Boston University.
Bill is a co-founder of Basin Street Properties and head of the company’s board of directors. He brings more than four decades of real estate experience and expertise to Basin Street, and his knowledge has proven invaluable since our inception. Mr. White holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Lehigh University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Harvard University.
Tom formed Basin Street Hospitality with Matt White in 2007 and continues to manage the Basin Street Hospitality projects in California and Nevada. Prior to forming Basin Street Hospitality, Tom led the turnaround of the Sheraton Sonoma County’ Petaluma Hotel into one of the top performing hotels in the region. Prior to that, Tom had an 18-year career at the international consulting firm of Putnam, Hayes & Bartlett, Inc. Tom received an A.B. in economics from U.C. Berkeley, and a Masters in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
Mike is co-owner of Wright Contracting, Inc., along with his brother Jay Wright. Founded in 1953 by their father, Paul V. Wright, Wright Contracting, Inc. is a general building contractor specializing in all types of non-residential projects. As Wright’s CFO, Mike is an integral part of the firm’s continued success. Some of Wright’s current projects include education facilities, hospitals, wineries, office buildings, student housing and parking structures. In addition to his work at Wright, Mike is an avid supporter of local arts and entertainment organizations, serving on several non-profit boards. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science from Santa Clara University and practiced as a Certified Public Accountant prior to joining Wright Contracting in 1984.
Bob specializes in the areas of business organization, commercial real estate leasing and finance and loan workouts and related tax issues. Bob has extensive experience in representing financial institutions, real estate developers, real estate investors, and office, shopping center, hotel and business park owners in major transactions; resolving troubled loans for both lenders and borrowers; and organizing, reorganizing, merging and dissolving business entities and resolving ownership disputes. In mergers and acquisitions, Mr. Stein has represented a wide range of entrepreneurs in specializing in a broad range of businesses, including food services, food products, software and technology, hospitality, construction and consulting services. Bob received a B.A. in Political Science, magna cum laude, from Yale University (1970) and his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) (1974).
After serving as President of Basin Street Properties for two years, Sean has returned to commercial real estate ventures in the Bay Area. He remains on the Advisory Board where he has been since its inception.
Prior to his two years as President of Basin Street Properties, , Flannery spent 25 years at Wells Fargo, most of which was spent in real estate finance, with a focus on opportunistic and/or value-added projects. In his most recent position, Sean was a Senior Credit Officer for the Commercial Real Estate group, with responsibility for the West Coast, the Homebuilder Group, and the Real Estate Merchant Bank (opportunistic debt and equity provider). The portfolio aggregated to more than $20 Billion in loan commitments. Sean has had a broad range of experience in commercial real estate finance, and is very comfortable working through all aspects of real estate capital including debt, mezzanine, preferred and joint venture equity. Sean is a graduate of Stanford University, with a BA in Economics.
President and CEO of Cyan, an industry-leading, global provider of Service Level Aware Network Solutions, including packet-optical transport systems, industry-leading software and SaaS solutions, and professional services. Cyan enables network builders to scale, extend, and simplify conventional and packet-based networks for more profitable service offerings. Cyan is a Petaluma, California team of industry veterans with a track record of successful innovation in communications networks around the world. Mr. Hatfield is a veteran of three other successful communications systems start-ups. Most recently Michael was founder and CEO of Calix (CALX), a publicly traded communication systems company. Calix is a leading producer of high-speed access systems for Communications Service Providers. Prior to Calix, Michael was co-founder and COO of Cerent, a leading provider of high-speed fiber-optics systems acquired by Cisco Systems for $7B. Michael’s initial start-up success came as an early team member and vice-president of marketing for Advanced Fibre Communications (AFC). During his tenure, AFC went from start-up to a publicly traded enterprise. He has also served in management roles at DSC Communications and Ameritech. Michael has a BSEE in Electrical Engineering and Mathematical Economics from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and an MBA in Finance from Indiana University.
Dan Corfee is the president and founder of Preferred Capital Advisors. He provides management oversight and strategic direction for the privately held boutique advisory firm which provides real estate investment, debt brokerage, equity placement and consulting services. Since its inception, Preferred Capital Advisors has completed over $7 Billon of transactions for its client base located within the Western United States.
Prior to the formation of Preferred Capital Advisors in April of 2002, Dan Corfee served as the Director of the Capital Markets Group at the Panattoni Development Company, one of the largest privately held development companies in the United States. In this capacity, he was responsible for the national management of debt placement, institutional and private equity placement and asset dispositions. During his tenure with Panattoni, the company completed over 45 million sf of office and industrial development in 43 markets across the United States.
Prior to joining Panattoni Development Company, Dan was employed by Union Bank of California for 12 years where he held positions as a Vice President within the Real Estate Special Assets Division and as a Vice President and Regional Manager for Northern California, Nevada and Oregon within the Real Estate Industries Group. Dan is a graduate of The University of California at Davis. Dan is a Member of the Urban Land Institute and Lambda Alpha International.
Mr. Palmisano joined Pacific Union in 1979 as a partner and project manager of the Meadowood Resort in Napa Valley. Through the years, he has worked principally on creative development concepts such as Opera Plaza, San Francisco’s first mix-use development, and the Peninsula Regent, a model life-care community in San Mateo. He founded Pacific Union Marketing Company, a fully integrated real estate marketing group specializing in innovative urban developments in 1987. The company has successfully completed over $3 billion in residential sales within the Bay Area.
Working as a joint venture partner with leading local developers, Mr. Palmisano has been integral in the creation of many community landmarks. Noteworthy examples include pioneering San Francisco’s first loft communities; California Center, a downtown office and hotel complex; and the country’s first military base conversion at Hamilton Air Field in Marin County.
Prior to 1979, Mr. Palmisano was Vice President and Regional Manager for World Savings and Loan after spending five years with Xerox Corporation as Marketing Manager for the Pacific Basin.
Today, Mr. Palmisano is a private investor and serves on several non-profit boards including Bridge Housing Corporation and Delancey Street Foundation. He was a founding board member of Mortgage.com, now Quicken Loans and Factory OS, pioneering multi-family off site construction. He also serves as an advisor to private companies including Inman News and the Sundance Preserve Land Company.
Mr. Palmisano holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management from Georgia Tech and an MBA from Pepperdine University. He lives with his wife, Christy, in St. Helena, California.
