Dow Development Laboratories Expands Petaluma Facilities

Petaluma, CA (date September 6, 2017) – Basin Street Properties, a prominent Northern California real estate investor and developer, has signed a lease expansion for 11,053 square feet with Dow Development Laboratories (DDL) at 1031 North McDowell Boulevard. This new lease expands their facilities to 22,698 square feet.  DDL is a contract development and manufacturing organization, specializing in topical products. “DDL’s expansion is a great story for Petaluma and helps to diversify Sonoma’s economy,” said Scott Stranzl, Vice President of Leasing for Basin Street Properties.  “DDL’s growth enables Petaluma to foster a more varied job base and bring additional high caliber jobs to Sonoma County.”

Dow Development Laboratories (DDL) opened their Petaluma facilities in 2014.  “Recent business success in product development has propelled us to outgrow the initial space and provided the rationale for our expansion,” said Debra Dow, President of DDL.   DDL specializes in the development of topical products such as creams, gels, solutions and ointments, most often for use in dermatology medical indications such as acne, psoriasis, and atopic dermatitis, as well as in ophthalmology, topical pain, women’s health and anti-infective therapy.

“We provide contract product development services to the pharmaceutical and biotech industry,” said Dow.  “Our clients range from start-ups to large multi-national companies. The expanded Petaluma facilities will allow us the space for additional equipment and staff so that DDL can provide additional services.”

Across the industry, investment in pharmaceutical and biotech drug product development is currently at a high level.  Small and large companies are finding funding to move new products forward.  DDL is well positioned to design, develop and manufacture these new topical prescription products.
