November 1, 2017 by basinadmin

Reno, NV (November 1, 2017) – Basin Street Properties, a prominent Northern Nevada real estate investor and developer, has signed a lease with High Sierra Martial Arts for 2,745 square feet at their Mill@McCarran mixed use business park. “The location between Sparks and Reno is an ideal place to open our Martial Arts school,” said KJN Scott Smith, 7th degree black belt instructor and owner of High Sierra Martial Arts.  “The building is easily accessible for clients who live in either Sparks or Reno and it faces highly trafficked McCarran Boulevard providing great signage visibility.”

“We are excited to have High Sierra Martial Arts join our family of tenants at Mill@McCarran,” said Scott Stranzl, Vice President of Leasing for Basin Street Properties.  “It is a great use of the space and engages the community while promoting health and wellness that we all can achieve.”

High Sierra Martial Arts provides teaching for all ages.  Owner Scott Smith has over 30 years of martial arts experience fighting and teaching.   His experience and ability to teach students from small children to seniors is why students continue to study under him.  “We teach mixed martial arts for children ages 3 and up, and adults from novice to expert,” said Smith.  “We will also be starting a class for children and adults with learning disabilities. Our goal during the classes is to obtain a balance between play and concentrating on teaching those with special needs to focus the mind and strengthen the body’s core.”

Mixed martial arts focus on fighting techniques of wrestling and boxing but also includes kickboxing, judo, and karate.  This allows students to learn all forms of fighting instead of concentrating on one fighting style. To celebrate the opening of their new location, High Sierra Martial Arts has two excellent offers:  Half off your first month or your first week free if you just want to give it a try.

Mill@McCarran is located at the corner of Mill Street and McCarran Boulevard just minutes from the Reno/Tahoe International Airport and downtown Reno, with Highway 395 to the west and Interstate-80 just to the north. Nearby shopping includes Target plus Mira Loma and Ironhorse shopping centers. Dining offerings and services like Well Fargo Bank are also within a few miles of the complex. The project provides plenty of parking with storefront options and excellent visibility from McCarran Boulevard.

Basin Street Properties owns and manages 723,646 square feet of class A office space, hospitality, and retail in Reno and led the redevelopment of the Kings Inn into 3rd Street Flats and the development of the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown/Riverfront.

Representing Basin Street Properties was Tomi Jo Lynch and Casey Prostinak of SVN/Gold Dust Commercial Associates.  High Sierra Martial Arts was represented by Tim Gunsten of Kidder Mathews.
