Experienced hotelier heads up the team and opening the new hotel.
Reno, NV February 9, 2016 – Basin Street Properties, a prominent northern Nevada and northern California real estate investment, development and management firm is pleased to announce Amy Preston as the new General Manager of the Courtyard by Marriott Reno Downtown. Preston will oversee all aspects of the opening and management of the property and will leverage her 20 years of hotel management experience.
“I’m excited to be a part of the energy and redevelopment that is happening in downtown Reno,” said Amy. “It’s a wonderful time to be in Reno, opening a new hotel. There is a great deal of momentum economically and I look forward to partnering with the University, the Reno Aces, local businesses, casinos and other new hotels such as the Whitney Peak and Marriott Renaissance to assure the Downtown Courtyard’s success.” Amy has moved to the area fulltime and has begun reaching out to the business community to build these relationships. Born in Seattle and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Amy has held positions at properties in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Oakland, Vacaville and Fresno.
Amy comes to Basin Street Properties with over 20 years of hotel management experience and is no stranger to the Marriott brand nor the Courtyard division. Amy has held the role of General Manager with Residence Inn, Courtyard by Marriott and Hilton Garden Inn. In addition to these roles, Amy is intimate with all aspects of the business including positions of Regional Director of Human Resources, Director of Housekeeping and Assistant General Manager. “We are thrilled Amy has chosen to be a part of our Courtyard Reno Downtown team, and are confident that with her enthusiasm and vast hospitality knowledge and work history, she will be an integral part of the success of the hotel,” said Par Tolles, President of Basin Street Properties.
