3rd Street Flats, Upscale Apartments, Opening In Downtown Reno
Bentar Development and Basin Street Properties partner to renovate the former Kings Inn and bring new, upscale apartments to downtown Reno.
Reno, NV (date December 3, 2015) – Basin Street Properties, a prominent Northern Nevada and Northern California real estate investor and developer, has partnered with longtime Nevada developer and contractor Bentar Development to develop the 3rd Street Flats. This 94 unit upscale apartment complex, slated to open in the Summer of 2016, arises from the former Kings Inn and adds to the momentum of a revitalized downtown Reno.
“It’s great to see a long standing challenge for the City of Reno reclaimed and redeveloped,” said Par Tolles, President of Basin Street Properties. “The former Kings Inn sat vacant for over 30 years until Chi Chi Bengochea of Bentar Development had the vision to leverage the building’s existing bones, and completely remake it as new, upscale apartments.”
The new, luxury apartments will feature open concept floor plans with contemporary finishes including high-end appliances, custom kitchen islands with European cabinetry, quartz surface countertops, pendant lighting, plank flooring and ceramic tile in baths. It will also feature a sky pool and sun deck on the third level, a fitness studio, secure underground parking and the pet friendly amenities of a bark park and dog washing station.

And the timing is right for these upscale apartments, with a projected 50,000 new jobs coming to Reno by 2020.”
Not only has the project been a collaboration between Bentar Development and Basin Street Properties, it has required considerable foresight and cooperation from The City of Reno. “The City of Reno has been very helpful in moving the 3rd Streets Flats Project forward,” said Par Tolles. “City Manager, Andrew Clinger and his team have gone above and beyond to help us work through the challenges of bringing a long vacant property into the modern era.”
The luxury residential units will be located on floors two through seven and will consist of 94 one and two bedroom floor plans. The complex will also feature approximately 9,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor, onsite property management, fireside roof deck and barbeque area, panoramic views, social lounge, on-site storage and bike amenities.
